This course introduces the language of music through modules which are made up of practical music and music technology. Module 1 starts with a practical musical project, whihc is done in groups or as individuals. This can take many forms, for example, a rock band, rewriting a song, or learning a particular instrument. Every students leans the basics on guitar, keyboard and drums with opportunities to take bass guitar and orchestral instruments. Students are encouraged to be creative and expressive while learning the basics of reading through learning the Band Class module and writing music throughout the course using GarageBand software in the Mac Suite. Learning assessment activities are based around the four strands in the Arts Curriculum and feedback and guidance are provided throughout the course:
Students are assessed during class time across the semester.

Contributions and Equipment/StationeryIt is recommended students purchase a music take-home theory workbook supplied in class
If the student has an Apple product (iPad, MacBook) then it will be help to bring that to class
