NCEA Level 3 Classical Studies
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs R. Forrest
The classical studies course looks at a range of disciplines: ancient literature, philosophy, politics, history and art history. The focus for Level 3 is on ancient Greece. The study of the Greek values and religion is an integral part of the course.
Topics include:
- Greek Life and philosophies
- Greek art and its influence
- The Leadership and Power of Alexander the Great
A student will be withdrawn from a standard if the teacher is not confident that the achievement of the standard is within the reach of the student or there is no evidence of the student attempting the assessment.
A personal device is preferred for this subject.
Recommended Prior Learning
At least 14 credits at Level 2, including 5 credits in writing and 5 credits in reading from English and/or History.
