Commerce was a new subject in 2024, replacing Economics and Accounting.
Commerce is all about understanding the business world. You will learn about economics, accounting, business studies, and finance. It involves real-life case studies and enables you to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. If you are wanting to develop your business skills, Commerce is the pathway to take. It will give you a solid foundation in all things business-related and opens doors to awesome opportunities.
Level 1 NCEA Commerce sets you up for future success and provides a stepping stone to further specialisation in years 12 and 13 with Accounting and Economics.

Term 1
Run a business. AS92029 - Demonstrate Price Determination for an Organisation. Guest speakers.
Term 2
AS92028 Demonstrate Understanding of an Organisations financial decision making. Real life case study. Guest speakers.
Term 3
AS 92031 Demonstrate understanding of the financial viability of an organisation. ( External submission)
Accounting and or Economics.
Term 4
Accounting or Economics
Recommended Prior Learning
An interest in the way the world works. Curiosity, watching and listening to the news.
