Year 9 Design & Fashion Textiles

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs P. Simmonds

The course follows the technology curriculum and involves designing and creating a number of projects. Students will gain a solid foundational knowledge of the skills of fabric technology and then apply these skills in a wide range of contexts. The final project consists of sourcing an item of clothing from the second hand shop which they will re purpose—applying the skills they have learned during this course—to produce a contemporary fashion item.

It is recommended that students pay the subject fees of $15.00 which includes all materials needed for a project to take home.
