Course Description

The Licence to Work programme is run in conjunction with Taupo Pathways for Youth Employment. It is all about helping young people gain the insight, confidence and skills to get work, keep work and create careers. It is aimed at those students who want to leave school at the end of the year and progress into employment or further tertiary training.

The programme includes: career planning, workplace visits, voluntary work, safety course, first aid course, drivers licence and work experience. It's all about setting you up to succeed in the workplace by learning the Employability Skills that all employers look for. We also get "Set for Life" by covering other topics such has budgeting, buying a car, going flatting, hauora, apprenticeships, buying a house, employment contracts, tax and much more. These topics are often covered by guest speakers. Credits will be pre-employment or based on your area of interest. Possible units are:

Safety Course   

First Aid

Drivers Licence

10780 Complete a work experience placement

9677 Communicate in a team

30906 Complete an activity intended to benefit the community

If you think this is for you, select it, then you will be interviewed by either your Dean or a senior manager to confirm your place.

Entry is by interview with your Dean or a senior manager
