NCEA Level 2 Accounting

Students with an interest in owning or managing a business or interested in studying business or commerce at a higher level would be advised to take Level 2 Accounting.
- The purpose and conceptual basis of accounting; the systems used to process financial transactions – manual and computer.
- The preparation, presentation, analysis and interpretation of financial statements.
While it builds and expands on the Level 1 course and provides an excellent preparation to Level 3 Accounting, capable students willing to put in a lot of work will be able to pick up this course.
A student will be withdrawn from a standard if the teacher is not confident that the achievement of the standard is within the reach of the student or there is no evidence of the student attempting the assessment.
Recommended Prior Learning
14 or more credits at Level 1 accounting or in consultation with the teacher in charge of accounting.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
It is recommended that students buy accounting workbooks at approximately $25 total.
