Through career exploration and personal development akonga will gain the insight, confidence and skills to get work, keep work and create careers. Together we will explore:
- Personal strengths and values
- Communication
- Employability skills and employment opportunities
- Local industries
- Community service
- Financial literacy
The Explore course includes: self-awareness; exposure to the world of work; exploring different types of work and career pathways; employability skills; creating a CV; workplace visit; voluntary work experience; health & safety in the workplace (could include a visit to Tenon); employment services visit; and work experience (could be through Gateway).
