Year 9 Design & Resistant Materials

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr P. Kemsley Smith

The course follows the technology curriculum and involves designing and creating a product. The course is intended for students interested in the application of a design process to explore different mediums of resistant materials with a particular emphasis on developing basic product design and hands-on workshop skills. Students are encouraged to problem solve within the technological process and will learn about the correct use of tools, machines and workshop safety skills to complete a project.


Year 10 Design & Visual Communication, Year 10 Resistant Materials - Wood

This class has pathways into Resistant Materials in Year 10 and the Senior School.

Further pathways might include Engineering, Architecture, Trades and Construction, Graphic Design and many other Design based professions - etc. University Entrance for Creative Courses.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

Contribution and Equipment/Stationery: It is recommended that students pay the subject fees of $15.00 which covers the cost of take home materials used in the course.
