Course Description

This is a full year course which aims to expand students knowledge of basic Te Reo and Tikanga Māori in the second semester, to further develop their skills gained in semester one.
Some of the topics covered are:
- Mihimihi Pepeha (basic introductions and greetings)
- Whānau (family)
- Tikanga me ngā kawa o te marae (marae customs and marae protocol)
- Haka & waiata
- Tīnana (body)
- Kāinga (home)
- Pakiwaitara (legends)
- Kura (school)
- Whaikōrero (Māori oratory)
- Karanga
- Pōwhiri
- Manu Kōrero
