Year 10 Art - Painting

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr G. Lindsay.

Students will cover a range of drawing and painting skills, with a focus on artist models (techniques) to develop their own techniques and ideas.

A range of the following activities are included: A wide variety of painting techniques painting, Landscape painting, coloured Lino printing using painting skills to enhance the image and a self-chosen painting project that incorporates all the skills and techniques learnt in the course.

Semester 1
Introduction to Japanese style images and painting.
Don Binney style landscapes.
Mixed media painting

Term 2
Semester 1
Jig-saw painting, developing painting techniques.
Lino printing.
Self directed painting project.

Term 3
Semester 2
Introduction to Japanese style images and painting.
Don Binney style landscapes.
Mixed media painting

Term 4
Semester 2
Jig-saw painting, developing painting techniques.
Lino printing.
Self directed painting project.

Recommended Prior Learning

A good understanding of the basic skills learnt in year 9 Art.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

It is recommended students pay $30 which covers the cost of the take home materials used in the course.
A3 Visual diary, eraser, 6B pencil, sharpener, Coloured pencils, Scissors, Glue stick
Students are encouraged to bring their own laptop.
