Course Description

This course is for multi-lingual learners in Te Reo Māori. The course covers Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori in familiar contexts. The course is assessed through language achievement standards and tikanga unit standards where students will develop their knowledge of Te Reo and Te Ao Māori.
Field Trips include:
Manu Kōrero Speech Competition (Regional & National).

Assessment Information
Students will be assessed internally on the following:A Tikanga unit standard (2 credits)
A Whakarongo (listening) achievement standard (6 credits)
A Tuhi (writing) achievement standard (6 credits)
A Kōrero (speaking) achievement standard (6 credits)
Students will have an external assessment at the end of the year:
A Tuhi (writing) assessment standard (6 credits)
A Pānui (reading comprehension) assessment standard (6 credits)
