NCEA Level 3 Sport and Recreation

This course caters for students with a genuine interest in sport and recreation. The programme will introduce students to sport injury management, personal well-being, basic use of gym equipment, as well as outdoor recreational activities. A range of sporting and recreational activities will be included in this course in support of these, including basic personal training, basic gym instructing etc.
It is recommended the students complete the Empower fitness gym programme and attend the Tough Guy & Gal challenge.
A student will be withdrawn from a standard if the teacher is not confident that the achievement of the standard is within the reach of the student or there is no evidence of the student attempting the assessment.
Recommended Prior Learning
Successful applicants will be expected to be physically fit and willing and able to participate in a number of different activities.
Successfully completed Year 12 sport and outdoor education or Level 2 physical education, or at the discretion of Head of Faculty.

It is recommended students pay the course costs of approximately $115 which includes travel.
