This course covers pure biology topics of plants and ecology, cell processes, adaptations across several groups of living organisms, and genetics and evolution.

A student will be withdrawn from a standard if the teacher is not confident that the achievement of the standard is within the reach of the student or there is no evidence of the student attempting the assessment.

Course Overview

Term 1
Genetics - this topic follow on from Level 1 Genetics including DNA, inheritance, genetic variation and natural selection.

Term 2
Adaptations in different groups of living organisms
Practical Investigation - this fit within the cellular processes topic.

Term 3
Survival in Extreme Environments - how organisms are adapted to survive in different environments
Gene Expression - study of how cells make proteins and how variation occurs

Term 4
Review and revision - preparation for external exams
