NCEA Level 2 Mathematics
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr R. Thompson.
This course is designed for students who wish to continue mathematics at Level 2. The topics in this course are of a more practical and applicable nature and less literacy based. There are no Statistics standards.
A student will be withdrawn from a standard if the teacher is not confident that the achievement of the standard is within the reach of the student or there is no evidence of the student attempting the assessment.

Recommended Prior Learning
Recommendation from Year 11 mathematics teacher and/or Head of Faculty and at least 5 Level 1 credits from achievement standards, including at least an achieved grade in AS91945, and have passed Numeracy.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
It is recommended that students purchase a Casio FX 82 scientific calculator
Pathway
If students show they can work independently and achieve some of the standards at merit level, a possible course for next year is 13MAT with TIC approval.

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
