NCEA Level 1 Science 1
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs C. Mackintosh
This course covers a range of internal assessments and external assessments. It is expected that students in this course will sit 2 external papers.
If you are interested in taking Physics, Chemistry and/or Biology in year 12 then you need to do either science 1 or science 2.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM?
Science 1 has the expectation that you are pushing for excellence and students will be challenged and kept moving at a quicker pace than science 2.
Science 2 students will be offered the same standards as science 1 but they are covered at a slower pace so they may not get through them all.
Science 1 and 2 are expected to purchase a SCIPAD workbook and these are extensively used throughout the course.
Recommended Prior Learning
