Year 10 Resistant Materials - Wood

Course Description

Materials technology is an essential learning area in the New Zealand Curriculum and provides exciting opportunities for all students to develop and extend their ideas and to explore creative solutions to practical problems. Technology is challenging and rewarding, and open to everyone.
This course is intended for students interested in exploring different mediums of hard materials with an emphasis on using the material wood combined with joinery/carpentry processes. Students are encouraged to problem solve within the technological process and to develop skills in design and evaluation. Correct use of woodworking tools, machine and safety skills are an integral part of the course.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

It is recommended students pay $45 which covers the cost of the take home materials used in the course.
A4 Visual diary (blank pages) or hard cover 2B8 exercise book.
