Course Description

Materials technology is an essential learning area in the New Zealand Curriculum and provides exciting opportunities for all students to develop and extend their ideas and to explore creative solutions to practical problems. Technology is challenging and rewarding, and open to everyone.
This course is intended for students interested in exploring different mediums of hard materials with an emphasis on using the material – metal, combined with engineering processes. Students are encouraged to problem solve within the technological process and to develop skills in design and evaluation. Correct use of engineering tools, machine and safety skills are an integral part of the course.


Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

It is recommended students pay $45 which covers the cost of the take home materials used in the course.
