Course Description

A continuation from Year 9, students will revise the Hiragana script, with Kanji and Katakana as we cover those topics. Topics covered are: Revise introductions from Year 9 Myself, then move on to My classroom, My school, My school life, Weather, Food and Monthly culture events. Culture and language are taught through an integrated approach. Students may sit the Australian Language Examination First Certificate in August and enter the Education Prefect competitions.

Recommended Prior Learning
Students who have not studied Japanese in Year 9 will need to be committed to doing a little catch up work at the beginning of Year 10, so they are able to read and write the basic 46 sounds of the Hiragana script.
