Year 10 Te Reo Māori
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Ms S. Richards.
This full year course is for those students who aim to progress their knowledge/understanding of the Māori language and the wider aspects of Te Reo me ngā Tikanga Māori. This course covers Levels 2 to 5 of the New Zealand curriculum.

- Whaikōrero (Oratory)
- Mihimihi
- Manu Kōrero Speeches
- Leisure Activities
- Kura (School)
- Kāinga (Home)
- Waiata & Haka
Recommended Prior Learning
It is preferable that students have studied Te Reo Māori in Year 9 or have attended Kohangareo, or Kura Kaupapa, or a Bi-lingual Māori school. We recommend that all students participate in Kapa Haka or Waka Ama to support and enhance their tikanga knowledge and ability to speak Māori.
